The Five Tibetans are reported to be more than 2500 years old and were brought to England from Tibet at the beginning of last century, they emphasize a continuous sequence of movements (vinyasa) coupled with a particular breathing technique. Anyone can practice these movements independently from age and health circumstances. Each movement is an energy producing meditation.
The Rishi Isometrics are an advanced system of movements practiced by holy men in the Hymalayas. Rather than relaxing into a position as in Hatha Yoga, you use energizing tension of the muscles and focus on those areas in the body where lymph nodes are most numerous. This pushes waste material through the heart for removal.
You will also learn to perform the Taoist Inner Smile, a profound technique to relax your central nervous system through the eyes and internal organs.

Ketut
Ketut was born into a Balinese healer family, and practiced from a young age with his yogi sister and father. He loves to study and play sports with his favorites besides yoga being badminton, guitar and martial arts.
He graduated from the Tourism University, and 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at the School of Sacred Arts in Ubud. Family and the Balinese culture blend well with his yogi lifestyle.
Ketut brings his sense of humor, devotion to his on-going study of yoga and love of his Balinese roots to each and every class.

Russian born Liana combines her yoga training and teaching experience with proficiencies in Western and Chinese Medicine. Her classes are not the typical yoga classes found in Ubud as she concentrates on your energy flow and your nurturing healing capacity.
She is a certified internationally accredited RYT 500hr instructor in Europe and RYT 200hr with the International Yoga Alliance. She speaks Russian, Dutch and English.
Liana has studied many forms of yoga, including Therapeutic, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Hatha, Iyengar and Asthanga with internationally recognized teachers.

A relaxation/restorative class to leave the stresses of a day of travel or work behind. Poses focus on opening and releasing tension in different key places in the body. In the Restorative style, poses are held in a supported, relaxing way with props for 3-5minutes in order to relieve tension. This class is a great pre-cursor for those just beginning a yoga practice!
Focus: To learn how to unwind, chill out, defrag and loosen up

Shades of Yoga is a Yoga Teacher Training school offering Level 1 (200 hour) RYT and level 2 (500 hour) RYT courses accredited with Yoga Alliance.
Shades of Yoga firmly believes that it’s only when we have developed a true understanding of the potent effects of the practice of yoga on the body, mind and spirit, that we can then effectively share these practices with others. Until we have cultivated an understanding of the inner self, teachers are not equipped to be a catalyst in the transformation of their students. Classes are suitable for experienced practitioners who would like to teach yoga and those who would simply like to deepen their yoga practice.

About our Workshop Spaces
Taksu’s spaces were created as places to connect, inquire, grow and delve deeply into what ever the topic. The Balinese spirit of service and graciousness enhance the naturally serene ambiance of each unique location.
A team of professionals will work closely to make any event successful, whether it be focused on yoga, pilates, martial arts, dance, art, healing, spirituality or spirituality or any topic whose intentions are compatible with Taksu’s vision of total body-mind-spirit wellbeing.
Space is available on a rental basis or percentage share basis for half day, full days, multiple days or weekly.
Rooftop Terrace
This L-shaped, open-air space is the largest and most flexible venue as the two areas can be set-up totally differently for a single group. For example, one wing could be used for the practical and the other for theory. Alternatively meals could be served in one area while the other for the workshop programme. Roll down bamboo shades provide adaptability for varying weather conditions and content objectives. WiFi is accessible and each of the stone pillars has an electrical outlet.

Upper Pavilion
From the ground floor reception area, a stone pathway leads several meters through forest scenery to a rectangular bale-style building headed by a small octangular bale. Its spaciousness and nature-inspired character make it popular for yoga and movement workshops, and sessions devoted to spiritual contemplation, sharing ideas or thought-provoking presentations. Frequently, buffet lunches or breaks are presented in the smaller pavilion while the main area can be set-up in various dining arrangements.

Meg
Meg comes to Taksu from the West Coast of Canada where she honed her skills teaching beginner skiers and snowboarders how to take to the slopes in Whistler, BC. After she completed her 200hr Yoga Alliance training she began developing her “ABC’s of Yoga” approach to learning asanas, guiding bodies of all ages, shapes and sizes into the physical practice of yoga. Her philosophy is that of integrating mind, body and spirit through (A)wareness, (B)reath and (C)ompassion for an organic human experience. She is continuing her yoga studies here in Ubud to blend fresh perspective with traditional Vedic teachings. Her focus is to create a safe, compassionate space to discover your own expression of this time honoured practice.

Chloe is dedicated to serving the teachings of Yoga to provide fellow seekers with the tools of self healing, growth and unlocking the well of their infinite potential. Also a healing practitioner at Taksu’s Healing Haven, her yoga classes incorporate the fundamentals of CranioSacral therapy into the physical practice as well as skeletal alignment and self energetic attunement.
A Yoga Alliance E-RYT certified instructor, she teaches her style of SmartFlow Yoga™– a deliberate set of postures to move the body in a conscious sequence to awaken the innate intelligence of the bodymind. She will take you on a journey with her dynamic, heartfelt, engaging way of sharing her own personal practice. Her style evolves as her practice evolves, as she believes in being a student first, teacher second. Her guided mediation classes are available for those who are interested in exploring the more subtler realms of consciousness. All classes are intended to provide for a more neutral and easeful state of being while dancing between the threshold of structure and flow– not just in the classroom, but more importantly, throughout the course of one’s own life.
A teacher as well as a healing practitioner for Hridaya Healing™ in the US, Mexico and now Bali, she has received darshan from Ram Dass, Ammachi and Paul Muller Ortega to carry out this work.
Chloe now lives in Bali, sharing her love for the Path of Yoga with her students. She hopes to serve the teachings in a way that embodies what she has deeply received from her own teachers. Also a public speaker on Spirituality and Consciousness, writer for MindBodyGreen and Elephant Journal, she hopes to bring forth the spiritual teachings in a practical and integrated manner to assist in the unfolding of your moment to moment, everyday life.

Paula Rasmussen is a Taksu Spa Specialist Advisor, residing in Bali for 12 years, has been a practitioner of CranioSacral Art for 18 years. In her studies with David Little’s Psycho Somatic Integration she acquired skills in Cranial Osteopathy, Polarity, Kinesiology, Ayurveda and Yoga philosophy. While living in Hawaii she studied the Franklin Sills Method of Biodynamic CranioSacral with Malta Zimmer and Michael Shae. Her studies with Arjuna Ardagh of Living Essence philosophy based in the satsang tradition of Sri Bagavan Ramana Maharshi reflects stillness in Paula’s work, infusing it with sensitivity, compassion and gentleness that is the heart of CranioSacral Therapy. Paula is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher.
She joins Taksu again in August 2012.

Kadek Suambara is a charismatic healer who comes from nine generations of spiritual leaders. He radiates wisdom and inner balance. When he was 26 he became the youngest person in Bali to be promoted as a spiritual leader in his area.
