Alignment Flow Yoga with Indra

Traditional flow-based yoga with emphasis on alignment to reap more benefits from the yoga poses and improve the body’s posture.

Alignment Flow Yoga with Indra

Tao Yoga with Angelo

Yoga is Happiness, Awareness and Love. Also defined from the Sankskrit as Union.

Tao Yoga introduces aspects of Zen and Ashtanga Yoga into a form of Yoga that does not follow any religious dogma, focusing on the alignment of the postures whilst maintaining a dynamic, flowing, moving class. Working with energy, breathing and the subtle system, you will very slowly become more attuned and sensitive to your body and your practice – subtly you will begin to work from the inside out as opposed to initially working from the outside in.

In Tao yoga the quality of awareness in our practice is paramount. Each pose puts the body in a new position which brings new parts of the body into focus so that we can become aware of any tightness or tension within the body. As we bring our awareness to these areas of tension they immediately start to shift and release.

The Great Taoist Master Lao Tzu defined in Tao Te Ching that “The Tao that can be described is not the eternal Tao. The Name that can be spoken is not the eternal Name”. Similarly, Yoga’s transformational power, energy flow and evolutionary process is to be learned with emphasis on experience and awareness over concepts and ideas.

Tao Yoga practice melts away the tightness and resistance that prevents us from enjoying the natural flow of life. Tao Yoga works with the mind, body and spirit, thus enabling you to feel de-stressed, re-energised, replenished, relaxed and centred after your practice.

You will tone, build bone density and core strength. You will become much happier, lighter, shiny, present, fit, peaceful and loving.

Tao Yoga with Angelo

Angelo Marcos Santos

Angelo studied Zen Yoga, training with Zen Master Julian “Daizan” Skinner, whom he met whilst attending Yoga classes at University College London in 2006. He was invited to join his private Zazen Meditation sitting circle. Prior to this encounter he’d studied Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga with Justine Glenton, resident Yoga Teacher at the Hale Clinic London.

Living in Bali has allowed him to further experience other styles like Yin, Restorative, ViniYoga Yiengar, Fly High Yoga, with teachers like Danny Paradise, Les Leventhal, Jose Luis and others.

He has taught Yoga in over 3 continents to hundreds of people in all ages, shapes and sizes. He has been selected as one of 20 Yoga and Conscious Movement teachers based in Bali represented in film for the quality and uniqueness of the practice, in the Visionary Documentary project SeeBeNow by Erick Joseph.

Angelo’s Tao Yoga has been recognized by India Hindu guru Rasa Acharya Prabhu Darmayasa (Divine Love Society) and Bali Hindu High Priestess Jero Ayu.

Aside from Asana Yoga, Angelo has been an original creator of progressive workshops combining Sound Healing with Vibrational Medicine and Mandala Art making, through his dynamic Art Therapy classes.  Through these classes which he calls “The Yoga of Art”, he has instigated countless creative awakenings.

Since his initial Yoga Training he has dived deeply in the exploration of truth via different spiritual cultures. He has studied and practiced Zen and Tibetan Buddhism, Tantra, India + Bali Hindu and Esoteric Christianity. His experiences have made him sensitive to the depth and universality in cultural belief systems.

Indra

It did not take long for Indra to decide what the next step was after his first Yoga lesson, an experience that was beyond special. And after completing his teacher training in Rishikesh, India, Indra can finally materialize his steadfast determination: to share the life-changing experience of Yoga.

To Indra, Yoga is about unity and balance, hence his equal emphasis on the intense and subtle aspects of Yoga to strengthen and heal one’s self. He has cultivated an understanding that the body is a reflection of the mind and soul, and vice versa, and Yoga is the ideal tool to synchronize them, ultimately helping one achieve a unified existence.

Ashtanga Yoga with Filipa

«I bow at the lotus feet of the Guru»

The practice
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic system, which was developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois after receiving his teachings from his guru Sri Tirumalai Krisnamacharya.

It is a step-by-step system characterised by the synchronisation of conscious, rhythmic and stable breathing with movements and sequences of postures that allow a deep cleansing and detoxifying of the body and the mind.

The practice combines breath, posture, gazing point, and internal holds that cultivate physical, mental, and spiritual health. One of the teachings received by the lineage carried by the Jois family is that the Ashtanga practice is to become a prayer and ultimately will empower the control of the mind.

The series
Primary Series is the Yoga Chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy, and is designed to purify the muscles and the digestive system while the Intermediate Series is meant to purify the nervous system and mind. Its is called Nadi Shodana. The system combines the 4 advanced series A, B, C and D.

About our Workshop Spaces

Taksu’s spaces were created as places to connect, inquire, grow and delve deeply into what ever the topic. The Balinese spirit of service and graciousness enhance the naturally serene ambiance of each unique location.
A team of professionals will work closely to make any event successful, whether it be focused on yoga, pilates, martial arts, dance, art, healing, spirituality or spirituality or any topic whose intentions are compatible with Taksu’s vision of total body-mind-spirit wellbeing.
Space is available on a rental basis or percentage share basis for half day, full days, multiple days or weekly.

Our main events pavilion is our largest and most flexible venue specifically designed for yoga programs and evening music and movement events.  The design is an expanded octagon with the west walls open overlooking our river valley and the east walls solid with glass skylights for yoga wall work.  It is located adjacent to our Taman Taksu Garden Restaurant and Chill Zone where our buffet breakfast and lunch is served.  The chill zone provides comfortable seating for participants to relax and use our high speed internet service while enjoying our extensive range of slow cold pressed juices, jamus and our freshly roasted coffee and gourmet herbal teas.

The Pavilion is equipped with professional sound system with mixer as well as projection screen and variable lighting.   Tables and chairs are stored in enclosed spaces within the room for quick transition from open floor for yoga practice to classroom and lecture setup for teaching.  WiFi is accessible and each of the wood support pillars has an electrical outlet for laptops.

Yoga for Balance

The physical body is rarely symmetrical, most people are aware that one side of the body is stronger or more flexible than the other. These imbalances will slow down and restrict our flow of vital life force or prana which can eventually lead to minor aches and pains, incorrect alignment, emotional stress and tension and inefficient functioning of the internal organs.

To help us maintain and enjoy optimum levels of health, it is important that we work to find balance both physically and emotionally and yoga is the perfect activity to help us do just that! Balance is not about strength!
